I'm so excited to share this interview with my good friend KC Blake...
When did you know you wanted to be a writer? After I read The Outsiders in seventh grade I knew I wanted to grow up to write for a living.
Do you have a process? I fill up at least one notebook with character sketches, bios, etc. and I put scenes on index cards. Then I try to get them in what looks to be the right order. Sometimes I shift them around while writing the book or add a scene here and there. I spend a lot of time daydreaming about the characters and scenes, trying to make everything work. Then I write the first draft. They say you should never edit while writing, but I cannot help it. Sometimes I write the first chapter over thirty times before I like it. The rest of the book waits until it is finished before I do any editing on it. The whole process can take months or even years.
Who or What is your inspiration? I have had many over the years, but at the moment I would say Cassandra Clare and shows like Buffy and Supernatural.
What will you be working on next? I am in the process of writing Hunter (the book after Bait) and then I am going to do the fourth book of the Rule Series which starts with Vampires Rule. It is becoming popular and several people have let it be known they want more of Jack and Silver.
What's your favorite genre to write? YA Paranormal slash Urban Fantasy with some romance added in for extra enjoyment.
Favorite paranormal read? I love the Mortal Instrument Series.
Favorite Author? Cassandra Clare (at the moment).
Person you would like to meet most in this world? (sigh) The Winchester
If you could be any character from one of your books who would it be? I would choose Kristen Noah from Crushed because she is a teen witch. All that power could come in handy.
