Aneesa Price

Blurb
This is an adult paranormal romance and contains scenes of explicit sex, violence and strong language.
Witch-vampire, Sophie, has the power to feel and influence others’ emotions. With the establishment of the Coffin Girls as warriors for the Goddess that kick supernatural ass, the effects of her empath abilities threaten to harm her. Sylvain, the mischievous and seductive fae prince and Coffin Girls ally, offers her the assistance of the fae to hone her powers. Sophie is drawn to Sylvain, which unnerves her as her hope for love has only ever led to devastation. The two of them must face the demons of their past, unknown enemies and new evil to find true happiness at last.

 Interview
When did you know you wanted to be a writer?
I was off sick from work, bored as hell and had had my fill of TV, movies, reading and really didn’t feel like working. I’d read Hp Mallory’s book on self-publishing and that decided it. I thought, “Why not?” and then sat down and wrote my first book.

Describe your books in 3 words?
Sexy, Romance, Escape

Do you have a process?
It starts with an idea that I mull over for a while and then I research like mad. The research can take a lot longer than actually writing the book. For example, each of the characters’ names in the Coffin Girls series have a meaning based on Irish or French mythology. I read a number of books on magick and spell-crafting, so whilst the spells you’ll find in Coffin Girls took minutes to write, the research I did to ensure that they were accurate, was extensive. The biggest compliment I received was when a reader, who is a practicing witch, sent me a message to commend me on the accuracy of the spells.

Who or What is your inspiration?
My life, my loves and the journey I’m on…

What will you be working on next?
I have to write the next book in the Promise series. It will be Faith’s story and will unveil why she stopped painting and hopefully give her a happy ending.
I also want to start a Coffin Girls spin-off series. I’m quite excited about it. It will be a series of paranormal, erotic novellas where a task team made up of Unseelie, Seelie, Voodoo practitioners, Vamps and Shifters are formed by the Coffin Girls allegiance. The main character will be an Unseelie woman and she will be part of an elite paranormal team made up of a broody, mysterious vamp, a were, a witch and possibly an incubus. They will come across all manner of monsters and their role is to first gather as much intel as they can and then to eliminate. But they each have their own issues. The main character is not much of an Unseelie faerie too so all her internal conflict spills out onto the rest of the team, creating havoc and a hell of a lot of sex and killing.
Then I have to write Coffin Girls book 3 and Ghosts and Lovers confession 2. I’ve also been convinced to write another story set in Devil’s Peak, Alaska, as a follow up to Home for Love.
What's your favorite genre to write?
Contemporary Romance. I enjoy reading and writing Contemporary Romance, Paranormal and Erotica books but I find that when I write Contemp Romance, it flows easily. I literally sit down and write.
Favorite paranormal read?
Archeron by Sherrilyn Kenyon.
Favorite Author?
Paranormal – Sherrilyn Kenyon
Contemporary Romance – Nora Roberts, Susan Mallory
Suspense – Patricia Cornwell, Kathy Reichs, Sieg Larson
Kids – J.K. Rowling, Enid Blyton
Mystery – Charlaine Harris’s Aurora Teagarden or Lily Bard series
Food – Nigella Lawson
Person you would like to meet most in this world?
Nelson Mandela, Ellen or Richard Branson. I think Richard will be the most fun though – I love what he did with Virgin and his wicked, clever way of tackling business with creativity and ingenuity.
What is one thing that would surprise us to know about you?
I’ve always wanted to own my own coffee shoppe and bakery in the style of a French pastry shop. I make pastry so buttery and light, you can see the layers in each slight puff up and call to you to bite into it and then when you do, it melts in your mouth. I’ve been cooking since the age of eight, so I’ve had years of practice. My mom taught me to make pastry and when she did, she embarrassed the crap out of me by explaining that to make a good pastry, you have to ‘make love’ to it. Huh!
If you could be any character from one of your books who would it be?
Caroline from Finding Promise – she had a hard live
