three in the Realm of Honor series.
Henry Chase is desperate to find his daughter lost in the Highlands. When he steps through a stone circle, he's transported to the Otherworld. With his human form hidden by glamour, he masquerades as a Fae knight. He's instantly besotted by Queen Maeve and determined to break down the walls she's erected around her heart.
In the aftermath of war, Queen Maeve's kingdom has been destroyed. She must close the portals to the human realm and restore her lost magic. But before she can set things straight, her archenemy, the Goddess of War, attacks, seeking revenge.
When the goddess captures the queen, Henry offers his life for Maeve's in the hope his bravery will earn the queen's love. Discovering Henry is human and knowing she must send him back to his world, Maeve tries to fight her feelings for him. Now she must choose--life at court or life with Henry--before she loses him forever.

“Are
you always this difficult?”
He
started to reply, to take a step toward his car when she snapped her fingers
and spouted something in Gaelic he didn’t understand. He opened his mouth to
ask her what she was doing, but the next words were ripped from him as sure as
his breath.
Suddenly,
he fell. He gasped, his arms flailing. He tried to catch himself on something-anything-but
there was nothing. He slipped through a black void that pressed all around him,
stealing his breath.
Oh shit.
The giant horned beast towered
over them by three or four feet. It was ugly. And it smelled like death and
rot. It had two curved horns like a ram’s but a snout like a pig’s, complete
with protruding tusks. It stood on two hoofed feet. Its upper body was covered
in coarse hair—again like a pig. But it had two human-looking arms that ended
in long bearlike claws. Several tree branches were all that stood between them.
He was fairly certain the beast looked at them as though they were a tasty
morsel, judging by the thick drool that slipped down its chin.
“You thought about the giant
beast, didn’t you?” she asked, her voice breathy with fear.
“I couldn’t help it. I tried
hard not to think about it but then it was all I could think
about.” He hated the confession. Hated his weakness. “What do we do now?”
“Now? We run.”
When he pulled away, he said,
“You may not be the queen of the Otherworld but you will always be the queen of
my heart.”
“And you, Henry, will always be my
knight. The knight who saved me from my loneliness.”
