Then she meets a man who sharpens her craving for something more, but her commitment to Evan means nothing beyond sparks can exist between them.

Cyrus has been watching Serenity, preparing to claim her as his Blessed mate—the other half of a split soul that, once reunited, is his only chance to break the curse that plagues his people.

One moment, Serenity is confronted by armed militants firing questions she cannot answer. The next, she is safe in Cyrus’s arms, reveling in his burning kiss…and learning she isn’t even human. She is Kindred, blessed with preternatural powers, cursed to suffer the twin horrors of the blood rage and the dark veil.

Their union is the greatest hope for redemption in a thousand years, but not all Kindred want to be saved. A dark secret could snuff out their lives before love has a chance to unite them…and redeem the Kindred for all time.

Firstly I would like to thank the author, the publisher and the tour organiser for giving me this opportunity of reading and reviewing this fabulous book.
Ah! It was a pleasant surprise for me. I really didn’t expect this book to be such awesome and I was really surprised when I finished it. I loved the characterization and all the characters were fully flourished and developed except the lead character, Serenity. I felt that she didn’t develop throughout the book and to be honest I like the slow development of the characters because it brings out more colours and aspects of their nature. Secondly the sex scenes were dragged too much and after a few lines it felt gross.
Apart from these two points I liked the other contents of this book very much. I fully enjoyed the action scenes which were in abundance in here and I also loved the slow and gradual revelation of the huge secret that will knock you off! Well, you will get this surprise towards the very end. The self-discovery of Serenity was an interesting experience and I loved the way it was executed but Serenity just got along with Cyrus from the very first without any hesitation or question, that felt a little unreal but given their situation, I mean part of a same soul and all, this fact can be accepted.
The plot and world building is remarkably fantastic and it is well planned out giving a real feel to it. The Kindred World is great to explore and it’s full of shocks and surprises, so beware!!! Overall a good read and I would recommend it to paranormal romance lovers. Hope that you guys will enjoy it as well.

To undo the evil of dark magic, Serenity must travel to the immortals' hold in Iceland. Alone.

Cyrus comes close to unraveling without his mate, but refuses to let honor or duty keep them apart, even if it means the bloodshed of his own kinsmen.

As the Great Council prepares to convene to determine their fate, friends become enemies, enemies become allies, and soul mates are pushed right to the edge-where love and faith is their only hope of survival.

Warning: Contains soul mates put through the grinder, dark magic drama that will leave you reeling, angry sex that crumbles concrete, an alpha hero pushed over the edge, and a roller coaster full of twists.

Wow!!! What a great sequel. All my complaints with book 1 are resolved in book 2. I loved the book, totally!!! Great action, heart-stopping suspense, secrets will be revealed that’ll surely give you a heart-attack and oh my god the fantastic cover, I loved it!!!
New challenges threatens Serenity and Cyrus’s love life and their trusted ones back-stab them. Will their love win? Does their love have such power that it can overcome the grave danger and still be unscathed? The mystery that the author introduced in this sequel made me chomp on my nails, God the suspense tortured me, literally!!! The sex scenes were a treat to read rather than being dragged on and on! I enjoyed the action scenes and a pleasant surprise is the development of Serenity’s character.
A must read for everyone and I’m sure that you’ll love it but be sure to check out book 1 first because it leads directly to book 2, so without reading book 1 you’ll be totally lost in this book. Happy reading folks, keep reading!!!

Four Fighter Vampires

Enjoy the following long excerpt for Protector of the Flame:

The bedroom door burst open. Cyrus rushed in, eyes wide almost crazed, raven hair tousled. “Take off the necklace from the immortal witch.” His voice had a hard, frightening edge.

“Why?” She reached for her neck. When she thought she had the chain, it slipped between her fingers.

A horrified gasp clipped the quiet tension of the room as Talus jumped backward, tripping on the sofa. Serenity’s heart stuttered. The necklace slid through her fingers again.

A grim expression wrenched Cyrus’s face. Jagged bolts of terror ripped through their merged energy stream.

“What’s wrong?” She swallowed the acrid taste of panic filling her mouth.

Cyrus clasped her shoulders. “We tried to remove the glodems.” He spoke steadily, drawing out the words when she simply needed him to spit it out. “None of us can lift or break them. They won’t budge.”

“What does that have to do with me or the necklace?” She grasped for the chain once more, her fingers desperately searching for it.

“Serenity,” he said in a tone so controlled strain leaked through, “when you touch the necklace…it crawls into your skin and becomes part of your flesh.”

One glance at the petrified look on Talus’s face confirmed the impossible words to be true.

Her blood curdled. She broke free from Cyrus and raced to the bathroom. Her pulse hammered in her head. Her thoughts spun into a terrifying tangle.

In the mirror, she could see the gold chain and the amulet, Aset’s colorful wings cradling a stone wrapped in golden thread. The gift from the immortal rested against her breastbone, warm on her skin as any other piece of jewelry would.

Slowly, she reached for the chain. A harsh shiver took hold as her fingers drew closer, eyes locked on the charm.

An inch from the necklace her hand trembled. She skimmed the amulet with a fingertip, temples pounding, holding her breath. As she went to hook a finger on the chain, the necklace wormed into her skin—a slithering gold reptile burying itself inside of her. The wings of the pendant flapped wildly, then hooked into her chest and the center stone melded with her sternum.

What Are Your Must-Haves To Write

In order to get into the writing zone, there are a few essentials I must have.

Water. Lots and lots of water. Before motherhood, my response would have been cappuccino. My son is 16 months old and I’m currently eight months pregnant. As much as I desperately need an I.V. of caffeine, my daily limit is 200 mg until I’m done breastfeeding the one on the way. For now, I struggle to stay hydrated.

A clean bathroom nearby. Due to my high water consumption and baby #2 sitting pretty low, I have to waddle to the restroom every 15 minutes. I don’t care for nasty surprises, so I avoid public bathrooms whenever possible.

Comfortable seating. I’ve always needed this and prefer a cushy sofa. I find it easier to relax and to connect with my characters.

Snacks. Having something to munch on helps keep my blood sugar stable and my mind focused. I’ve never been an unhealthy snacker, but while pregnant I prefer dried fruit, nuts, and pretzels. For those irresistible chocolate cravings, I love a few pieces of dark chocolate mixed with sea salt. The combination sounds a little crazy, but I promise it’s delicious.

Music. A playlist for a story helps me bring a scene to life on paper. When I have to leave that world for emails, promo or something my editor needs me to focus on, the playlist immediately transports me back.

A picture of my son. I have one photo of my little boy as a screensaver on my laptop and cell phone. He’s climbing a flag pole on a golf course while we were on vacation in Puerto Rico. His face is aglow with pure joy and he’s sticking his tongue out through his bright smile. It’s so adorable, but whenever I look at it I remember how fearless he was and how happy it made him to follow his carefree instincts.

Sometimes when I write, I wonder if the story is right for the current market, if my editor will approve of the scene, will readers hate me if I let a character make a dangerous decision. Doubt sets in and paralyzes my fingers. Then I look at the picture of my son and everything weighing me down simply lifts away. The market, what my editor and readers will think are all important as I revise, but when I hammer out that first draft I have to stay plugged into the love of the story from my heart.

It was great to be here. Thank you for having me today!

About The Author:

I'm the author of the paranormal romance KINDRED OF THE FALLEN, the first novel in the Kindred Chronicles. I love creating dark tales of love often laced with mythology. When possible, I reward my flawed characters for the hell I put them through with a happy ending.

Before following my bliss as a writer, I served as a U.S. Air Force Intelligence Officer. Wanderlust has taken me to Central America, the Caribbean, Africa, throughout Europe, and has kept me moving every three years. Fortunately, I’m blessed with a husband who shares my passion for travel, movies, and fantastic food.

I currently live in Florida with my husband, son and spoiled canine kiddies.
