don’t give up on me. Please give this some serious thought. I need you.”
I was super
excited about this series when I read the blurb! I mean how could I not be it’s
about fairies, vampires, demons, and magic! Woo woo!
Karli has
lived her life in hiding, never letting anyone know what she is, except her
best friend Erica. Poor Karli feels like she’s living on borrowed time though.
As with any Faire she will reach her immortality at 25 with that comes her
biggest problem if a vampire gets one whiff of her blood then they could drain
you dry.
She’s heartbroken
after finding out her half demon boyfriend was having an affair with not only
one woman but hordes of them. Then while working one night she meets the
sexiest vampire. Then later that night after a grisly murder she meets a so
sexy Detective! How could a girl not go crazy! Between the murders and the men
things are getting hot, heavy, and action packed. Some kind of demon is going
around killing people and these are people Karli knows or works with. Between
the murders and the triangle of love I enjoyed every page!
This was a
great start for this series! The author sprinkled her fairy dust on me and I
couldn’t put it the book down! It was very well written, I never found myself
bored, I stayed up until 5 am finishing this book!

than I would have ever thought myself capable of, good and bad. They
simultaneously brought out the best in me, the worst in me, and the most in me.
Now do you understand why I was so confused?”
“They had
complete faith in it. I used to as well, but I lost my way. I’m only realizing
now that they were right all along.”
“Dare I say
someone with whom I could build a life? This man in front of me was not the
playboy that I’d become accustomed to: an owner of several establishments who’d
participated in acts of questionable morality. This was a man who would give up
that lifestyle in a heartbeat for his chance at love, and family.”

Things have
gotten hot and oh so heavy in this book. It starts out with poor Karli going
crazy, she can’t figure out who she wants is it Leo or is it Vance?? She’s going through the stages of her
immortality and one of them is increased sexual drive, like she needs one with
all these fine men everywhere she looks.
She won’t
see either of them without Erica with her because she doesn’t trust herself
around them.
Then one day
while she’s at work and in walks this beautiful vampire and HER NAME IS THE
SAME as Lance’s ex-wife. She doesn’t understand what’s going on all she knows
is that women is truly evil.
In this book
you watch Karli try to figure out who her heart belongs to, deal with a crazy
ex, and get her heart broken. Maria is hell bent on making Vance and Leo’s life
hell and she knows the best way to do that is by going after Karli.
She’s also
trying to sever the relationship between her and her maker Leo.
There is a
lot of going on in this book but not so much that you can’t follow along
HAPPILY!! I will admit I got mad at Karli during this one though. She is
heartbroken and livid with Vance and I am a woman I get it but, forgiveness is
what she needs right now, not to worry though Leo is right there to help should she need it.
I also don’t
think I like Erica anymore because she is blaming Karli for something that is
not her fault. This book paved the way to what I know will be an amazing next
book!
