Vesik Series Spotlight~Review~Giveaway

Title-Days Gone Bad
Series- Vesik # 1
By Eric R. Asher
Genre- Urban Fantasy
Blurb-
My name is Damian Valdis Vesik. I am a necromancer, an ability feared and hated as much as the powers my master and I set ourselves against. We've vanquished many evils, but now something is releasing an old darkness, forcing us to hunt an enemy beyond anything I’ve faced before. I was already busy enough with vampires, fairies, witches, Watchers, weddings, and … damn, I need a vacation.

Foster’s howl shattered the night. It grew into a scream as his body began to glow. Swirls of orange and red flickered into being around him, spinning faster and growing thicker as he called on the wild fae. A swirling sphere of color like the storm clouds of Jupiter swallowed the van and Foster with it. The entire scene burst into a nova of flame and I closed my eyes against the light, the blast of heat hitting me like a desert wind. Foster’s scream fell silent. I heard his sword slide out of its sheath as he stepped from the smoke and flame. His body and wings were covered in soot, but no burns marred his flesh.
The smell hit me as the wards were dissolved by the fae-powered flames. The stench of burning skin and hair was overwhelming. I stepped away from the inferno, blinked a few times, and followed Foster into the garage.
“What will the authorities find?” I said.
“Nothing but a burned out van.” Foster’s voice was dead, his knuckles stark white with the pressure he put on the hilt of his sword.

Title-Wolves and the River of Stone
Series-Vesik # 2
By- Eric R. Asher
Publication Date- October 22nd, 2013
Genre- Urban Fantasy

Philip, Zola’s boyfriend from one hundred and fifty years ago, is not nearly as dead as we thought. I really wish he was. Not only has he kidnapped Zola, but he’s raising an army to scour humanity from the earth. Hopefully the local werewolf pack will help. What could possibly go wrong?

Eric is a former bookseller, guitarist, and comic seller currently living in Saint Louis, Missouri. A lifelong enthusiast of books, music, toys, and games, he discovered a love for the written word after being dragged to the library by his parents at a young age. When he is not writing, you can usually find him reading, gaming, or buried beneath a small avalanche of Transformers.

Vampire - I’ve read traditional vampires and daywalker vampires and have enjoyed them both.
Gargoyle
Werewolf - I like the werewolves that completely become a wolf, but I also really enjoy the half-man half-wolf monsters (as you may notice if you read Wolves and the River of Stone).
Demon
Necromancer - Damian may not be the most traditional of necromancers, but I love the classic necromancer archetype too.
Undine
Fairy - This covers a huge range of supernatural beings, but I’m specifically thinking of fairies like Foster, Aideen, and Cara. Well, maybe not exactly like Foster, Aideen, and Cara.
Shapeshifter
Grumpy Cat
Worrible - How could I not?

Days Gone Bad

Favorite Line “He saved you and you … you just … insulted everything he stands for Damian. Everything he works for. Everything his family has done for generations to earn the respect of the Seelie court.”

“Kill a child in front of its mother.”

Zola’s head snapped back toward me and anger creased her forehead.

“Give the child's mother a gun and turn your back. I don't care what religion she is, what color her skin is, what shape her eyes are. You will die before you reach the door and you’ll deserve it. And you know what? She will bloody well be justified!”

“A hell I knew I’d never really escape. It was my fault. All my fault.”

“Some crazy bastard was laughing. Oh, right, that was me.”

“He went to get Vik a ferret.”

I've made a decision thanks to this book! I will soooooo start looking for more books where men are the main characters and they are as kick ass as Damian! He's a necromancer. There's so much going on in this book I almost went into overload! It was well worth it though. There a fairies and vampires so e of my favorite paranormal creatures. His sister is vampire. Him and his master Zola are going after demons. This is one of the most action packed books I have ever read. I mean its got a pepper box as a weapon! Whoa loved it! It's not for the anyone who doesn't like bloody fighting! I love it so I loved every page. Bravo to this author!

FOUR NECROMANCER FAIRIES

Wolves and the river of stone

Favorite Lines “So much killing. Sometimes it seems like the only thing left in the world.”

“Well, tonight there are better people for killing. See you soon.”

“Foster and I had learned a long time ago to laugh in the face of adversity and atrocities. It was that or endure a psychotic break that would make a dark necromancer proud. Or go over the falls in a barrel, whichever you prefer.”

“My assistant manager is a vampire whore.”

“The wolves and the water witches. What would my grandfather say?”

“We always have an outside witness, but we’ve never had a vampire or a necromancer. I want to use this as an example of Carter’s influence, an example of peace between the wolves, the vampires, and the necromancers.”

OMG I didn't think I could Damian and Zola any more but, this book was PHENOMENAL. The beginning of this book starts with Zola getting kidnapped by her Ex-Lover Phillip Pinkerton (name even sounds like a bad guy) he's a dark necromancer who thinks all necromancers are better than anyone. He's hell bent on raising a demon but, oh no not just any demon he wants to raise a demon on a ancient burial ground. What a little weasel!

I don't know if the author meant to do this but this book deals with people putting aside there differences when they have a common weasel to take care of. Necromancer, D

Fallen Demon, Vampires, Fairies, Water Witch, and Werewolf all coming together to kick some ass! Oh did I mention Damian gets a water witch girlfriend!

So amazing charchters leave us in this book and I cried but I also laughed at the humour, and loved the action! I can't wait to see what happen next because I have feeling something big is coming!
