DESCRIPTION
Book 4 in the New Species series. While each New Species book is a standalone, the greatest enjoyment will come from reading them in series order.
Justice North is the face of New Species. Seeing him up close makes Jessie’s heart race. He’s the ultimate alpha male—big, muscular, exotically beautiful…and dangerous. Of course he’s off limits. But then the sexy man purrs and all bets are off.
Jessie Dupree is a mouthy, fiery human female who brings out the animal in Justice. She wants to show him how to relax, and he’s all for anything she wants to do, but Justice has sworn to protect his people and to take a Species mate. He’s torn between the woman he wants and the oath he’s taken.
Jessie knows a relationship between them probably won’t end well, heartbreak is inevitable. But that won’t stop her from freeing the wildness inside Justice and spending every moment she can steal wrapped around his hot body, making him roar with passion.
Reader Advisory: Each New Species book may be read as a standalone, but we suggest reading them in order to get the most enjoyment from the series.

“Did you just purr?”  His gaze lifted. “I don’t purr.” He gripped his tank top at his waist, quickly tugged it up his impressive torso and over his head. He offered it to her. “Put this over your shirt.”
“You should put that shirt back on, Mr. North. You have a chill.” He blinked. “I don’t.”  Her focus flicked to his nipples, still hard pebbles. “Your chest seems to disagree and it’s difficult for me not to stare at you. You must work out a lot to look that good.” I said that aloud. Shit! I didn’t mean to.  Another soft sound came from his throat and Jessie smiled, quickly over her slip of the lips.  That was definitely a purr.    He’s so hot. Tall, good-looking,  can fight, stands up for women and makes that sexy sound. Oh yeah, don’t forget he’s off limits!
“I see the one,” Bestial said and nodded. “I would like to take that dress off her and see if she is creamy colored everywhere.” He growled. “Who is she?” Bestial pointedly stared at Justice. “Who is the human out there? I want her name so when I go after her I have an advantage. I think her thighs would fit perfectly over my shoulders.” The males laughed while Justice shook his head at Bestial, in amusement. “It is probably Ellie you are speaking of. They are here tonight since she’s not showing enough for strangers to notice yet. You should stop. She’s mated to Fury and he would put your own thighs around your shoulders before he stuffed you into a bag to send you home to Reservation for looking at his female. The only other human female who would be here is the new doctor Ihired. She is attractive and single but I don’t think she’s prepared for you. She’s a bit timid.”  Bestial pointed. “What is her name? She’s going to make me break the zipper of my pants if she keeps shaking that sweet ass much longer.” Justice grinned and turned in his seat enough to follow the direction of the council member’s finger. He’d met the new doctor, Allison Baker, a  week before. She was sweet, a bit shy and soft spoken. Someone as gruff as Bestial trying to seduce her into sharing sex would be outright funny. He just hoped the poor thing didn’t quit her new job out of fear, not realizing she was in no danger.
“I’m going to claim her so there’s nothing to protect her from. I’ll make her mine, fill her with my seed and it will plant there. She’ll make an excellent mate and mother to my young.”  A roar tore from Justice’s throat and he flipped the table over so it wasn’t between him and Brawn anymore. The people around them started, stopped talking and quickly backed away from the two tense males. Justice’s hands fisted at his sides, his breathing increased to a pant and his fangs were revealed when he sneered at the council member who wanted his woman. Brawn took a cautious step back.  “Brawn,” Cedar urged softly “you’ve gone far enough.” Brawn watched Justice, took another step backward to put more space between them and shifted his gaze to the overturned table. “If not tonight, perhaps another.” He lowered his chin to his chest, kept his gaze down and withdrew farther until he spun on his heel and disappeared into the group near the bar.

Justice is a New Species and a workaholic. He is also the one in charge of the New Species and wants a mate of his own but doesn’t believe he deserves one.  He meets Jessie and wants Jessie in his bed but does not want anyone to know of their relationship so for a while Jessie goes along with it. But then she realizes she wants more than Justice is willing to give her. So she stops and tells him to leave her alone. But she lives right next door to him.  Like that will work, but she is hurt and her New Species friends have decided they are going to force Justices hand so to speak.  They recruit a few of the male New Species to provoke Justice into admitting that he is in love with Jessie. Will Justice be too late? Or Will Jessie allow him in her life for good?  Will their enemies destroy everything they are trying to build?

I love the New Species books.  I was a little disappointed with this book.  I guess I expected more content and Justice to give in a little quicker after all that is happened in his world but this book was still good. The story kept you wanting to read on.  At times I wanted to hit Justice upside the head and say what the hell are you thinking? Jessie is perfect for Justice and all he is doing is screwing up. MEN!!!!(Oops sorry) NEW SPECIES!!!  The Breeze and Brawn save the day… Every page you want to yell, cry or just scream trying to get him to pay attention.  Laurann Dohner keeps you on your toes and you love every minute of it.
