Ella’s piercing voice popped my happy bubble. “You have a
tattoo? Where?”
I looked over my shoulder, glanced at my sister’s raised
eyebrow and tapping foot.
“It’s on my right side and I got it a few weeks ago. But I
was high and probably drunk at the time so the details are fuzzy. I barely
remember getting there, telling the guy what I wanted. I passed out almost
straight away. When I woke up, it was done.”
“Let me see it!” Ella demanded and tried to shove Dante out
of the way. She had a better chance of moving a mountain.
“I’m naked under here.” I batted her hands away when she
tried to pull the lapels of the coat apart. “You want me to flash the entire
freeway?”
Dante’s eyes narrowed. “No one except me is seeing you
naked.”
One-half of Ella’s mouth curled up and she lifted onto her
toes to reach my ear. Her voice was barely above a whisper. “When you have sex
with him, I want details.”
“I can hear you,” Dante rumbled, seeming amused.
I cracked a smile, glanced at Dante. My cheeks heated in
direct correlation to the naked hunger in his gaze. To my sister, I shooed her
away and said, “We’ll talk later. Go. Micah is probably ready to murder someone
right about now because you’re away from him.”
“You’re probably right. Keep her safe, Dante, or I’ll tie
you down, cut off your balls and shove them up your ass.” Two seconds later,
Ella poofed away.
Dante frowned. “Your sister has such a lovely disposition.”
This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review. This is the second book in the Dark Series.
Hannah was trying so hard to forget what happen to her she would self-destruct
with drugs, alcohol and sex with anyone who would give it to her but she
realized that it was not working so she decided to change. Realizing she could not drive home one night
she called her friend Dante for help. He
was the one man she believed she could never have.
Dante was a lion shifter who rescued Hannah every time she
needed him and was there the night that changed Hannah forever. Dante loved
Hannah but knew she wasn’t ready for what he wanted but after her last call he
knew he would never let her go again and would do anything in the world to
protect her. There was several problems
they had to overcome before they could be fully together one was Hannah’s
fears, the vampire that was stalking her and trying to claim her as his queen,
her sister and another man name Eli who was turned vampire and Hannah had one
time wanted as more than just a friend but turned away from her. Eli now wants
her as more than a friend. Will Hannah
fight for what she wants? Will her fears
destroy her, her family, and her new found love?
Even though this story was a novella it was full of
suspense, anger, love and danger, oh yes and sexy hot lion shifter and
vampires. OMG!!! HOT HOT MEN!!! Can’t do without them!!! Sorry off track here.
The story flowed and kept you on the end of your seat wanting to know
more. This is a story that makes you
wonder what is going to happen next. While reading the story you understand why
things happened but it also made you want to slap Dante for the way he was with
Hannah. This is a story worth reading.
