DESCRIPTION
Book 7 in the Urban Seductions series.
Melissa is an Assassin and one of the best. Fiercely independent and with her own set of rules, she always works alone and never harms an innocent. When her best friend is murdered, she swears to hunt down the killer. But for that she needs information and assistance.
Daniel Cranston believes strongly in working for the greater good but he didn’t ask for a partner, particularly not a sexy blonde bombshell with revenge on her mind.
When they realize how powerful their prey is, it’s far too late to turn back. Melissa is determined to avenge her friend, and Daniel can’t bring himself to leave her side. Passion and magic explode around them. On the tail of a rogue Assassin, one who is increasing his powers by draining his victims, what few rules they each hold dear are all going to be left far behind.
A Romantica® paranormal erotic romance from Ellora’s Cave

Elizabeth Lapthorne is the eldest of four children. She grew up with lots of noise, fights and tale-telling. Her mother, a reporter and book reviewer, instilled in her a great appreciation of reading with the intrigues of a good plot.
Elizabeth studied Science at school, and whilst between jobs complained bitterly to a good friend about the lack of current literature to pass away the hours. While they both were looking up websites for new publishers, she stumbled onto Ellora’s Cave. Jumping head-first into this doubly new site (both the first e-book site she had ever visited, as well as her first taste of Romantica) they both devoured over half of EC’s titles in less than a month. While waiting for more titles to be printed (as well as that ever-elusive science job) Elizabeth started dabbling again in her writing.
Elizabeth has always loved to read, it will always be her favourite pass-time, (she is constantly buying new books and bookshelves to fill), but she also loves going to the beach, sitting in the sun, having coffee (or better yet, CHOCOLATE and coffee) with her friends and generally enjoying life. She is extremely curious, which is why she studied science, and often tells “interesting” stories, loving a good laugh. She is a self-confessed email junkie, loving to read what other people on the EC board think and have to say, she laughs often at their tales and ideas. She recently has developed a taste for the gym. She’s sure she read somewhere it was good for her, but she is reserving judgment to see how long it lasts.

Favorite Quotes:

Matt grinned, his blue eyes twinkling at her.
“I just thought there might be a girl fight,” he lied smoothly. The quick movement of his gaze as he watched Melissa’s hands and face with a knowing, well-trained eye gave away the falsehood as much as his defensive posture. “You know the kind I mean—the kind men pay to watch. Torn clothes. Naked flesh. Sweating female bodies rolling around everywhere. I needed to stand to see it better. No man is going to give up such a golden opportunity.”
Melissa snorted with laughter and looked from her friend to Matt and back again. “I’m glad you kept him—he’s funny,” she said.

“I’ll talk to him,” she conceded with a slightly stiff nod at Will, not worried about the clear chill in her words. “But I will not make guarantees. I don’t work for you and I don’t have the temperament to take orders from anyone. Thank you for couching your request kindly.”
Will gave her a wide, shit-eating grin that made her understand that the man could probably talk the devil into dancing in the rain should he choose to do so. He was far cleverer and savvier than she had previously believed, and she hadn’t exactly thought him stupid or dense in the first place. Melissa rarely underestimated people but she conceded she may have done so in Will’s case.
“No, leave it on,” he insisted gently. “I particularly like this color on you. It deepens your eyes and looks gorgeous. Besides, there will be plenty of time to explore your body further next time, when we’re in a more secure location.”

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

When I started reading this book it was not what I thought it would be but it actually was pretty good. This book begins with an assassin who realized that by killing others he can steal their magic and make himself more powerful. He also knew what would happen to him if he was caught, “DEATH”. What he didn’t really aspect was someone wanting revenge on one of his kills. He never expected Melissa!!!
Melissa was an assassin one that was lethal and one that would kill for all the right reasons.  The problem right now was she was out to avenge the death of her friend and fellow assassin. Unfortunately for her (at least that is what she thinks at first) she is given a partner. A hot sexy partner who she worked for before and lusted after, Daniel was a hot sexy and didn’t ask to be partners with Melissa but her wouldn’t mind her in his bed.  As their lust heats up so does the assassin who is killing their friends. Now the assassin is coming after Melissa.  Will the assassin destroy what Melissa and Daniel are building? Or will they find the assassin and end all the killings?
At first the book was a slow but then it pickup and was sexy, hot and fierce. The book flowed and kept you interested in wanting to know who the assassin was.  Wish it was a bit longer but it was good.
