ASSASSIN’S TOUCH
Iron
Portal #1

Two worlds. Two enemies.
Haunted by loss, Cascadian assassin
Rickert D’Angelus is on a mission of vengeance. Determined to stop the Pacifican
army from finding a portal to his world, he leads a group of warriors into New
Seattle with one goal—to kill all Pacifican soldiers.
Neyla Trihorn had the perfect life until
a deadly accident revealed her latent para-abilities. Now, the former fashion
designer is the Pacifican army’s hottest commodity in their fight against the invaders.
When Rickert discovers a beautiful,
unconscious soldier on a cold mountain ledge near the portal, he realizes she’s
a Protection-Talent and cannot be killed. To prevent the army from using her
skills again, he takes her as his prisoner instead.
One fated touch…
But when he pulls her into his arms,
a sexy and compelling vision appears, awakening something inside him. Something
he can’t ignore.
Torn between duty and passion, Rickert
must decide if the vision is a Talent trick designed to foil the enemy or the
answer to his deepest desires...
Describe
your books in 3 words?
Dangerous,
sexy, naughty
If you
could be any character from one of your books who would it be?
It’s
hard to choose just one, but I’d probably pick Arianna from TEMPTED BY BLOOD
because she runs an interesting blog and is with a really hot bad boy with
piercings.
What is
your greatest fear about being an author/publishing your book(s)?
Disappointing
readers.
Would
the 10 year-old version of yourself kick your butt or praise you for what
you've accomplished in life?
My 10-year-old
self would think it was cool that I’m an author now, because my 10-year-old
self was writing books.
What do
you do when you finish your book and turn it in to the editor?
Cross my
fingers that she likes it and then take my mind off of that by starting my next
project.
What is
your favorite Genre and why?
Paranormal
romance is my first love because love is more interesting when it’s dangerous.
What is
one thing that would surprise us to know about you?
I once
went to Forks with 50 other Twilight fans.
Was
there an Author who inspired you to write?
My
sister is an author (Rebecca J. Clark), and for ages, she pestered me to go to
writing meetings with her. I finally listened to her, and it was then that I
started writing again.
How did
you come up with the characters in your books?
Because
my books tend to be hero-centric, I focus on him first—his goals and fears.
What drives him? What makes him think and act the way he does? And then I come
up with a heroine who will challenge him unlike anyone has ever done before.
Do you
prefer to write alone or do you like to collaborate with other authors?
Although
I’m in several plotting groups, I work better if I come up with a story idea
and characters first and then talk about it with two of my special reader/writer
friends (they’re my muses). I’ve also
got a screenwriter author friend who is amazing when it comes to analyzing
story and characters. And then, of course, there’s my sister.
Everyone
uses computers, tablets, phones and no one uses handwritten form or
typewriters, what do you prefer to use?
My
Macbook Pro
Is there
a ritual you do before you begin your book?
I like
to start off a new book by taking myself on a mini writing retreat to the ocean.
I’ve done this with my last 2 books and discovered it’s a great way to clear
out the clutter in my mind and get ready for something new.
