Blurb/Synopsis:
Things are finally
starting to look up for Skye Fletcher. She’s got a new job with a great salary,
she’s finally out of the rat-trap she used to live in and into a decent
apartment. She couldn’t be happier. Except for the thorn in her side, a.k.a.
Cian Hunter, her arrogant and too good-looking co-worker whom she has the
misfortune of being stuck with.
In spite of himself, Cian Hunter fell hard for the surly,
unfriendly woman who made no secret of her dislike for him. He knows he and
Skye are meant to be. Convincing her of that fact seems like an impossible
feat. However, he’s utterly confident he’s up to the task. His future and his
happiness depend on it, after all.
When Skye’s one impulsive, uncharacteristic little act
changes the status-quo between them, her life gets entangled with Cian’s way
more than she’s comfortable with.
That’s when her life really
turns upside down…

Author Information
S.R. McKade has always made up stories in her mind ever
since she was a child. She has her own world, where her characters live and
breathe. She loves reading and will try practically any genre in either fiction
or non-fiction, though she has a soft spot for funny romances and paranormal.
Addicted to chocolate, she needs a constant fix to feel human. She firmly
believes that being able to spin a story, the effort and love that goes into
it, is a miracle in itself.
Judge a Book by its Cover…
How do you choose a book? Is it
by its cover or its synopsis or word-of-mouth or because it’s on a best-selling
list? For me, covers grab my attention first. There’s nothing like an amazing
cover stopping you in your tracks and making you do a double-take. I do so love
book covers! Among some of my favorite covers are my own book’s cover; Holding
Out For Skye, Tangled by Karen Amanda Hooper, Darynda Jones’ Charley Davidson
series, Sharon Sala’s fabulous Lunatic Life series, and my all-time favorites –
the covers of the Night World series by L.J. Smith – the UK version in 2001
done by Gary Marsh and many, many others.
In my opinion, they are a work of
art. A book cover can say so much by a simple picture. I believe covers should
reflect the story of a book as much as possible. It adds more depth and
intensity to a story. It gives readers a picture to put on their favorite
characters. For example when I was choosing covers for my own book, Holding Out
For Skye, the cover I finally did chose made me instantly think of my heroine,
Skye. I took one look at the picture and I thought, “That’s her! That’s Skye!”
Book covers are wonderful and I
love looking at them, maybe dreaming a little about the person in the picture
or the fantastic imagery or world depicted in it. But I don’t simply judge a
book by its cover. I read books whose cover I might not like but whose synopsis
hooked me right in. I often choose books by whether their content looks
interesting to me or not or if something about it speaks to something inside of
me. So in essence, though I love book covers, I don’t judge a book by its
cover, but by its content.
Thanks for the spot on your blog!
