Raising Chaos Spotlight~Review~Interview~Giveaway

When good fails, chaos rises to the challenge.

The daily life of a chaos demon is delightfully sinful—overindulging in Sri Lankan delicacies, trespassing on private beaches in Hawaii, and getting soused at the best angel bar on the planet. But when Bedlam learns that the archdemon Azrael has escaped from the Abyss in order to wreak vengeance against the person who sent her there—Bedlam’s best friend, Khet—he can’t sit idly by.

Only one relic possesses the power to kill Khet, who suffers immortality at Lucifer’s request: the mythical Spear of Destiny, which pierced Christ’s side at His crucifixion. Neither angel nor demon has seen the Spear in two thousand years, but Azrael claims to know its location. Bedlam has no choice but to interpret woefully outdated clues and race her to its ancient resting place.

His quest is made nearly impossible by the interference of a persnickety archivist, Keziel—his angelic ex—and a dedicated cult intent on keeping the Spear out of the wrong hands. But to Bedlam, “wrong” is just an arbitrary word, and there’s no way he’s letting Khet die without a fight.

Favorite Lines “Losing Gabriel had made me feel as though the sunshine had disappeared from my life”

“It’s our responsibility to protect the humans. It’s what we were made for, and it’s what we swore to do. We don’t get to change our minds.”

“Express a greater faith in humanity,”

“Anyone else would have abandoned me for far less. Hell, everyone else has abandoned me for far less. But she forgives me. Half the time, she doesn’t even get mad.”

“I am not having this conversation with you, either. And you better not have it with her. Or… or… I don’t know what I’ll do, but it will completely ruin my reputation as a peacetime angel.”

Bedlam is well FREAKING AMAZING! Not in the yummy way or the kick ass way but in the he can make you smile anytime! While reading this one I was cracking up! Bedlam literally lives up to chaos, if he isn't causing it he's living it in his mind. It's great!
In this book Bedlam must save Khet (I prefer Carrie even though she's not using that name anymore) Azrael is after Khet because she got a human out of a soul deal and being a demon will go to great lengths to get revenge. She decides the spear of destiny is the perfect tool for her revenge. Will Bedlam save Khet? YOU GOTTA READ IT TO FIND OUT!
In this one we got to know a lot of back stories for certain angels and demon.
We got to see a little into the time when Lucifer led the rebellion. It was a wealth of information into the world this author thrust me and I devoured every page. I can honestly say there is nothing about this book I didn't enjoy! Bedlam got what he had coming and I cheered! (Literally) oh and the ending oh the ending gave me so much to look forward too!! Elizabeth Corrigan is an amazing author that every reader should check out! BRAVO!!!

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review  (Red Adept Publishing)

FIVE CHAOS FAIRIES
Describe your books in 3 words?
Demon saves friend.

If you could be any character from one of your books who would it be?
Hm. Well, I always say I’m most like Siren, but she, like most of my characters, has a pretty crappy life. I think if I had to be someone, I’d want to be Haley, the bartender Carrie meets in Raising Chaos. She’s smart and dependable, with a good head on her shoulders. She serves drinks now, but I know she’s going places in life.

What is your greatest fear about being an author/publishing your book(s)?
I have a list of author neuroses about a mile long, so it’s hard to pick just one. But probably my biggest fear is that people will think my book is bad. I mean, I think it’s good, and I tried to make it the best I could, but it’s very hard to have perspective on your own book. So I worry I missed the mark entirely. And that people will tell me about it.

Would the 10 year-old version of yourself kick your butt or praise you for what you've accomplished in life?
Well, I think ten-year-old me wanted to be a teacher, so she would probably be pleased at what I have achieved. Thirteen-year-old me, on the other hand, would want to know why I hadn’t become a famous singer or actor yet.

What do you do when you finish your book and turn it in to the editor?
Breathe a huge sigh of relief. Tell everyone I know. Eat a giant candy bar. And then sleep for a long time.

What is your favorite Genre and why?
I like to write urban fantasy, but I read young adult paranormal romance. I rarely read anything that doesn’t have a fantastical element to it, because I spend the whole time I’m reading a straightforward mystery going, “But where are the vampires?” For some reason I really like reading young adult books though. I think it’s in part because they bear so little resemblance to what my life was like in high school. And partly because I really like reading romance but don’t really like reading sex.

What is one thing that would surprise us to know about you?
I got a 1600 on my SATs.

Was there an Author who inspired you to write?
A lot of authors have inspired me to make up some kind of story. Laurell K. Hamilton, Simon R. Green, and the early authors of urban fantasy inspired me to make up stories in the genre. Maria V. Snyder made me want to create a fantasy world that was totally different than anything anyone else had done. Sharon Shinn motivated me to write about tight-knit character relationships, and Kelley Armstrong motivated me to generally be awesome.

How did you come up with the characters in your books?
I came up with Carrie after watching Supernatural. Dean sells his soul to a demon at the end of season 2, and I spent the whole summer after seeing that trying to decide who could get him out of that. I came up with the idea of an immortal Oracle who works in a crappy diner. Then I decided she had to have some immortal friends, so I intended to create some stereotypical angel and demon characters. Bedlam was supposed to be a generic demon friend, but then he grew into so much more than that. And Gabriel I based on my preconceived notions about the archangel, and I used a similar approach for Michael. I based Siren on me, if I were an angel, intending her to be a side character used for the occasional joke. But I understandably became very interested in her and ended up giving her a more central role.

Do you prefer to write alone or do you like to collaborate with other authors?
I like to talk to other people about my stories, but I generally don’t like to get too many ideas or help from others. One of my author neuroses is that I feel like I’m cheating if I use someone else’s ideas. But I like having my friends and family read my books in the early stages, and their input on what works and what doesn’t is invaluable.

Everyone uses computers, tablets, phones and no one uses handwritten form or typewriters, what do you prefer to use?
I have this amazing convertible laptop/tablet that I spent way too much money on a few months back (and which is now irritating me because the track pad is only working sometimes). I generally like to buy brand new, top of the line laptops every couple of years.

Is there a ritual you do before you begin your book?
Is procrastinating a ritual? I have to work pretty hard to get myself writing sometimes. But in general I try to make sure I have a brief outline of what is going to go in each chapter, so I have a good way to space it out.
