Julia Mills Interview @giveaway

Julia Mills
Describe your books in 3 words?
Hot, Sexy Addicting

If you could be any character from one of your books who would it be?
Kyra

What is your greatest fear about being an author/publishing your book(s)?
No one will like/read what I write.

Would the 10 year-old version of yourself kick your butt or praise you for what you've accomplished in life?
She would BE ECSTATIC!! She is the real dreamer of the bunch!

What do you do when you finish your book and turn it in to the editor?
Drink a Mike's Hard Cranberry Lemonade, eat Tex-Mex and watch action movies with my girls.

What is your favorite Genre and why?
Paranormal Romance because the sky's the limit.

What is one thing that would surprise us to know about you?
I was born and raised in a town of 89 people.

Was there an Author who inspired you to write?
Oh wow! So many! But JD Nelson was so supportive and is still a true mentor.

How did you come up with the characters in your books?
They are actually inspired by people I actually know or are in my family. I'll share a little secret with just you, Carrick, the Head Elder is based on my dad!

Do you prefer to write alone or do you like to collaborate with other authors?
I write alone for the most part but have the BEST writing partner in the world, Emma Edwards. Parts that I am worried abotu or working through I will write out and send to her. She is an awesome sounding board!

Everyone uses computers, tablets, phones and no one uses handwritten form or typewriters, what do you prefer to use?
I write all my notes and ideas out in longhand and I keep notes on colorful sticky notes ALL over my desk!

Is there a ritual you do before you begin your book?
Print out and post my inspiration pics around my office. Buy LOTS of colorful sticky notes and make sure there is LOTS of coffee, diet coke, chocolate, trail mix and sour gummy worms in the house.

What was you're greatest moment since publishing?
There are so many! I had a reader send me a note that she was going through some tremendous losses in her life and my books had kept her company and gave her hope. I cried happy tears for most of the day.

When writing your characters, do you picture someone specific that you take their features from (eg. actor/actresses) or do you pull looks from the air?
For the first step, I pull it from the air and write their description and then I scour the internet looking for pics that match my description.
