DESCRIPTION
Book two in the Divine Temptation series.
Phoebe lives trapped between two worlds. Born an Amazon
warrior, she’s sworn to serve the Greek pantheon. It’s her work as a scholar in
the human world that gives her life passion and purpose and eases her
heart—which shattered when the pantheon forced her to abandon her human lover.
Alexander Xenos is a world-renowned classics expert who has
dedicated his life to the study of ancient cultures and promoting peace. His
fame and global adventures hide a hole in his heart, ripped out by a beautiful
scholar who shut him out cold after the most intense love affair he’d ever had.
Thirty years later Sander meets his long-lost love, only to
learn she’s an Amazon, mythical gods are real, and are about to go to war. And
Phoebe, who still sets his blood to boil, is in the thick of it. He’ll
have to prevent a conflict between the Greek and Norse pantheons or lose her again—this
time permanently.

Favorite Quotes:
“You still look smashing. You’ve cut your hair but the
color’s exactly as I remember it.” He ran a few strands through his fingers.
The somersaults in her gut jumped in double time. “It’s as soft as I remember
as well. Amazons don’t age like humans?”
“We’re enhanced—our strength, flexibility, senses, but our
bodies are mortal and we definitely age.” She had the wrinkles to prove it. “I
dropped a small fortune at the hair salon to hide the gray for this event.”
A smile tugged at his lips. “Beautiful ceremony. But the
bridal gown was, uh, unique. More like a handkerchief.”
She laughed. “Amazon warrior regalia only covers major
organs. Breasts are a source of pride, so we show them off when we can. Our
ceremonies usually don’t have human participants, so we forget it’s not
considered appropriate.”
“I’ve got you.” A familiar voice. A safe voice. A hand under
her armpit, another on her biceps lifted her from the wall. She took a few
breaths, blinked to refocus. A form Sabrina Garie 12
shimmered into view. Sander? His hair was tousled, one
shirttail freed from his pants flapped haphazardly against his thigh, but
definitely Sander.
“How?”
“She never saw me coming, too focused on smashing your head
in. Now I must get you to hospital. And call an ambulance for those three.”
“Don’t need to. Amazons have hard heads. I’m fine. They’ll
be okay. We’ve been tampering with our genes for centuries. While we’ve screwed
up—a lot—it increased our ability to withstand a battering. I’ll be all right
in a few minutes. Help me walk it off.” She looped an arm through his but when
she tried to take a step, her legs wobbled. Only Sander’s grip kept her
standing.
“Okay, I’m ready,” she announced and turned to face him, her
breasts a breath from his chest.
So was he. “Lucy, I’m home,” he whispered, hoping she’d
understand.
“Sander?” Her cheeks flushed and lips opened as if in
welcome. Hope crept into her eyes.

What would you do if you loved a woman and she left you
without a word? What would you do if you found out many years later that she
had your child and he is full grown and ready to get married? What would you do if everything you thought
was just a myth is real? That Greek Gods are real, Amazon warriors are real and
that the woman you fell in love with thirty years later is not what you thought
she was? Well that is what happened to
Alexander Xenos aka Sander. He met and
fell in love with Phoebe or as she called herself in the human world Cassie who
was a scholar. Then one day she shut him out and left, she did it to protect
him but that is not something wanted to believe. He was a man who loved history. Seeing her at his son’s wedding reignited the
love and passion he thought he lost for her but after getting together after
the wedding Sander left her literally tied up and without a word.
Phoebe was forced to see Sander out in the human world
because the Greek and the Norse pantheons were about to go to war and he was
the only one who could stop it. But by stopping this conflict he would also
lose Phoebe again and this time would be the last. Can Sander and Phoebe stop
this conflict? Or is it too late? Will
they find a way that they can be together forever? Or will the Greek Gods have
other things in mind?
This was a really good story, the story flowed and it kept
you wanting to know more. I loved it
when Sander and even Phoebe would use lines from older TV shows.
FOUR AMAZON ANGELS
Thanks for the great review. This is the first time I've received a review before the book was out, so I'm particularly thrilled. And I love the Amazon pic and scoring system.
