Description
Psychic Mates, Book Three
Having spent most of her life avoiding people and hiding her psychic gifts, Rain was shocked when the new Psi Alliance asked her to join. She didn’t count on the rigorous training or needing all of her Native American knowledge to complete the course. And if only she could ignore her attraction to her devilishly handsome instructor.
Jess shows up to train a new psychic recruit and the crazy woman shoots him in the doorway. His new student is the raven-haired beauty who’d once saved his life. Trying to keep his focus on survival training is hard enough without the added stress of a rogue government agency trying to kill them.
Escaping danger leads them directly into each other’s arms. The only question is—can they survive long enough to find comfort there?
A Romantica® paranormal erotic romance from Ellora’s Cave

ABOUT A.S. FENICHEL
A.S. Fenichel adores writing stories filled with love, passion, desire, magic and maybe a little mayhem tossed in for good measure. Books have always been her perfect escape and she still relishes diving into one and staying up all night to finish a good story. Originally from New York, she grew up in New Jersey. She now lives in the southwest with her real life hero, her wonderful husband. When she is not reading or writing she enjoys cooking, travel, history and puttering in her garden.

Favorite Quotes:
Energy crackled from behind the door. It was a sensation he recognized well. His grip relaxed on his weapon and he smiled before the door opened.
“I didn’t think you were going to make it, Jess.” Tessa Clark grinned from the open doorway and stepped into his open arms for a hug.
Joshua grinned from across the room. “You say that, but she saved your life. In fact, if she hadn’t blocked Banta from gathering auras, we all might have been killed.”
“I recognize that, but it doesn’t mean I think she should risk her life the way we do. What’s wrong with being a healer in Nevada?”
Tessa said, “Nothing, but Adianca informed us that Rain was unhappy and had a different destiny.”

“Identify yourself.” The panic in her voice didn’t exactly scream confident law enforcement agent.
More banging and then the doorknob turned. Rain’s heart thundered so hard her ears rang. The room seemed to be closing in. The roof continued to creak under the weight of the snow. Whoever pushed on the door had it halfway open. She could see the sleeve of a white parka.
She fired!
The shotgun jerked against her shoulder, pushing her back a step. Her hip came up hard against the back of the couch, but she held her ground, ready to take the second shot if need be.
The door pushed all the way open. Freezing cold wind and a swirl of snow whipped through the cabin. The lights went out. A body fell into the room. “Goddamit! Put the fucking gun down, Rain. It’s Jess.”
“What are you doing here in the middle of a blizzard?”
“Our fearless leaders sent me to train you.”
Her entire body heated. She was glad for her dark Native American skin and hoped he couldn’t tell she was blushing. “Train me in what?”
Jess’ head cocked to one side. His voice suddenly dripped with the Louisiana accent that was always hinted at. “To be an agent, but if you’d like training in some other skill, Rain, just let me know and I’ll be glad to help.”
Now she was sure he could see her blushing. “I mean, I can’t shoot lightning from my fingertips or make a chair fly across the room. I don’t read minds. What is it you’re going to teach me to do?”
“How about we start with not shooting through a door when you don’t know who’s on the other side of it?”
“I said I was sorry.” She couldn’t believe how completely lame that sounded. She’d shot him. He didn’t say anything. The tension was choking her and her cheeks were on fire. She got up and added a log to the fire.

This story was given to me in exchange for an honest review.
This is a story that I could not put down.  This is a story about men and women work for an alliance called Psi Alliance.  In this story you meet Rain a Native American who is a medicine women and a healer. She first meets a man who she had to heal before he dies and in doing so she has to feel the same pain and everything he endured, even months later she still wakes up feeling pain and events of that night. Jess (Jesse) is a psychic who has been sent to recruit and train Rain months later. When he arrived at the place they were to meet the first thing she does is shoot him through the door. What a way to meet the man of your dream, almost killing him after she just saved him earlier.

During her training both Jess and Rain realize that they had feelings that were not just friendship. They were falling in love with each other but the problem was their sessions went from training to reality. Powerful people wanted the Psi Alliance dead and now they set their sights on Rain and Jess.  Will Rain and Jess survive long enough to find out if what they were feeling were true? Or would their secrets and past destroy it?

This is a great story with well-developed characters. There is sex, hot sexy psi men, even hot sexy bad guys. Cannot wait for the next in the series!!!
