Author Bio
I am a 33 year old, married stay at home mother of 4. I enjoy being able to spend a lot of time with my kids. Being able to stay home with them is a blessing. I enjoy reading a lot of other indie authors. I think it’s great that people can write what they feel and publish it themselves. I have only been writing for a short time but it really helps me get a lot out. I have fibromyalgia and some days are harder than others to write. I always have a lot of things buzzing around my head and writing is like an outlet for me. It helps me focus on one thing and go with it.  Aside from my 4 children my niece lives with us as well. The kids keep me hopping but we also have 4 dogs, 2 bearded dragons and a fish. We are like a mini zoo. J

Book Excerpt

“How well do you know Mr. Ashton?” He asks again as I look at him.
“Not well. We went out a few times.” I say as I look around.
“Did he ever talk about his work?” He asks as I shake my head.
“No. What is this about?” I say as he looks over at me.
“Just asking a few questions ma’am. The things you are describing to me are trademarks of the Ashton family.” He says as I look confused. Trademarks? What the hell does that mean?
“I don’t understand.” I say as I shake my head.
“Miss Matthews The Ashton family is a mob family. They have been operating around here for a long time. We can’t place them at anything we are looking at because they have a family member that works out of their system. These things you are receiving are their trademark threats. Who in that family have you been in contact with?” He says as he watches me. I watch him in confusion before I shake my head.
“Devon. I met Ally his sister and his parents once. His cousin Dee. That’s it.” I say as he watches me. How the hell does this make any sense?
“What about the half- brother? Ever meet him?” He asks as I shake my head.
“I don’t think so. Oh my god. I met a guy today at the coffee shop. He looked just like Devon he said his name was Dustin.” I say as I look over at the officer. He nods his head as he writes in his notebook.
“That is Devon’s half-brother. He was relieved of his spot in the family several years ago from what we understand. Miss Matthews do you know how we can find Dustin?” He says as I shake my head no.
“No. Oh wait he gave me his cell number.” I say as I pull the card from my pocket and hand it to him. He takes it and looks it over before he speaks again.
“I wouldn’t worry too much. Just keep your eyes open for anything that looks off and call us if you receive anything further. This may all be a misunderstanding.” He says as he reaches for the door handle.
“A misunderstanding? What the hell does that mean?” I snap as he turns to face me.
“It may be a brother against half-brother type of thing. Dustin may be trying to get back at Devon and he is using you. If you keep your distance from them both I think this will all just go away on its own.” He says as I nod. I stand and follow him back inside as they hand us a card and tell us to call if we need anything.
