Making Over Maris
Sabrina York
Wired Series #3
Ellora's Cave: http://www.ellorascave.com/making-over-maris.html
When über-nerd Jack asks Sara to make him more attractive to women, she can’t say no—even though it’s an impossible task. He’s shaggy and doughy and hopelessly inappropriate. He has no style or emotional intelligence but he’s a good person. And a great friend. What Sara never expects? Beneath all that fur and geekiness is a steamy hunk just waiting to emerge.
Jack takes Sara’s regimen very seriously, working out and losing weight until he feels like a new man. He even complies with her command to shave his beard—because Jack didn’t ask Sara to make him over so he would be attractive to other women. He only wants to be attractive to her. They go on a series of fake dates, each hotter and more sinful than the last. It’s not long before Sara discovers Jack’s secret desire to be dominated and what began as an arrangement becomes something amazing—something that could be real.

Favorite Quotes:
“You heard me, Sara. I want you
to make me attractive to women.”
Holy crap.
Yeah. That’s what she’d thought
he’d said.
She shuddered and stared down
at the lunch table, at her suddenly unappetizing tuna salad. “Jack—”
“Listen, Sara. I know I’m kind
of a dork…”
Kind of?
“And I’m hardly Brad Pitt.”
Hardly?
“But I really need your help
with this.” He reached across the table and grabbed her hand. “Please?”
But for
someone like Jack—someone who looked like he did and wore clothes harvested
from a pile on the floor of his closet, someone who preferred video games to
sex games, someone whose encyclopedic knowledge of the female gender had been
gleaned from C-grade porn—for someone like him, dating was out of the question.
In typical Jack-like fashion,
he fished around in his pockets and produced a piece of paper.
She
frowned. “What is that?”
“Nothing.”
She peeked over so she could
see it. It was— No way. “Is that another flowchart?”
He colored from his neck up.
“Maybe.”
“Let me see
that.” She snatched it from his hand and began to read. The title made her
tremble. Because it said…
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book is the third book in the Wired Series. In this book you meet man who has no style,
wears big glasses and is a total nerd.
He uses flowcharts for everything and has only been with only one woman.
The reason may be because he is in love with a certain woman for as long as her
remembers and is her best friend. His name is Jack. Jack runs his own business
with some of his friends. Her name is Sara, she is never shown interest in Jack
except as a friend. Never has noticed him as a man. Why I am not sure, maybe because he is not
hot looking and doesn’t dress the way she believes her man should dress.
One day Jack comes up with the idea of having Sara make him
over hoping she will see him as more than a friend. When she finally agrees to help she starts to
notice the difference in him. He loses
weight, gets a haircut and now becomes this hot, sexy geek. And boy do I mean
hot, sexy geek oh, and he is rich too. She starts to want more than friendship from
him but she has a secret. One she is not sure she how he will take. But Sara is not the only one who notices
Jack. Is Sara too late? Or will she
finally see Jack as someone she can love?
How will Jack take her secret?
Will he be able to accept her secret and enjoy what comes from that
secret? Or will he not want nothing to do with her? Sorry you will have to read the story to find
out.
This book is a great novella. It has funny, nerdy moments. It is worth reading.
