Huntsman's Prey (Kingdom, #7) by Marie Hall
Genre: Fantasy Romance
BLURB:
Rumors abound in Wonderland, of a dark princess named Chrysalis who bears the Moon's curse. Her beauty is beyond compare, and her madness... even greater than her father's, The Hatter. Death follows wherever she roams, and Danika--fairy godmother of all villains--knows this task is too great for her to handle on her own. She has no choice but to seek out the one they call Huntsman, his mission is simple: Find the creature, and destroy it.
But nothing is ever so simple in Kingdom. The moment the hunter Aeric steps foot in the mad, twisted realm he's enveloped in a reality that is neither wholly true nor fantasy. The key, the Cheshire explains, to ending the madness is for one to become mad themselves. The Huntsman has one chance to figure out the riddle before the beauty destroys them all...
She’s married to the love of her life, a sexy beast of a caveman who likes to refer to himself as Big Hunk. She has two awesome kids, lives in Hawaii, loves cooking and occasionally has been known to crochet.

Favorite Lines “I looked into her eyes, Lissa. There is
something there, an alertness of some sort. My gut tells me she can be saved.”
“Aeric, I’ll never regret knowing you and loving you. But
you must take her out of us. I’m sorry to ask you to do it, but you are the
only one I truly trust to fix us.”
“Goodbye, Lissa,” he whispered to the breeze, “We may not
have known one another long, but those days were the best of my life. You’ve
changed me in so many ways and I can only ever be grateful to you for that. I
just wish”
“Yes, sometimes. But I see you too, Chrysalis. I have not
forgotten the sacrifices you made for her, for myself. You are a woman worth
knowing.”
I've been a fan of Marie Hall since I first joined
Goodreads. I was blown away by her amazing ability to suck you in to the
Kingdom world. It happens so easily you don't even know what's going on until
you find yourself holding your breathe to see what happens next. This series
hasn't lost anything in fact it's gained more awesomeness!
I adored Hatter and Alice's story so to know this book
was about there daughter I was super excited!
Poor Chrysalis has her daddy's madness but she's also
been cursed.
Her godmother sends the Huntsman to find her and wow does
he find her!
He is a yummy man too! So much happens in this book that
my head was still the next morning! Marie Hall is an a amazing writer! She
makes her world so clear you can close your eyes and smell it! It was just
amazing! Loved it!!
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review
FIVE HUNTED FAIRIES
Describe your books in
3 words?
Quirky, steamy, dark
If you could be any
character from one of your books who would it be?
Trishelle, I have
always had a thing for Captain Hook!
What is your greatest
fear about being an author/publishing your book(s)?
That no one will want
to read it. Yeah, silly I know, but there it is…
Would the 10 year-old
version of yourself kick your butt or praise you for what you've accomplished
in life?
I think she'd be in
awe of what she's done. Writing romances for a living, c'mon, is there anything
cooler? :)
What do you do when
you finish your book and turn it in to the editor?
Immediately begin
drafting up the next one, of course!
What is your favorite
Genre and why?
Romance, in all forms.
I love love, love that first glance, that first kiss, the first time it becomes
more… le sigh.
What is one thing that
would surprise us to know about you?
I practically flunked
English when I was in middle school. I hated that class and swore I'd never
need to learn how to write because writing wasn't 'cool'. So maybe my ten year
old self would have kicked my butt after all!
Was there an Author
who inspired you to write?
Piers Anthony. I feel
in love with the strange quirkiness of his prose and the wonder of Xanth.
Picking up his books transported to me a world I wished desperately existed, so
it was a no brainer for me when I decided to start writing about fairy tales we
all know and love, but that are slightly different in my versions.
How did you come up
with the characters in your books?
They've lived in my
head for ages. I was the little girl watching the disney movies and thinking,
yeah but I bet that pirate has a reason for hating that bratty Peter Pan. Also,
I love the grimm versions of the tales, which is probably why I write from a
villains pov and have slightly edgier, darker characters than the standard
fairy tale retelling. We've all read Prince Charming's story, but no one's had
a chance to read about the big bad wolf or Captain Hook or Jafar or Gaston or
Hook or the Huntsman, or Rumple, or or or… I seriously could go on. :p
Do you prefer to write
alone or do you like to collaborate with other authors?
Both actually. I
mostly write alone but I'm laying the groundwork for a collaboration with a
very good friend of mine and we'll be writing under a pseudonym so that it's a
complete and total super seekrit project!
Everyone uses
computers, tablets, phones and no one uses handwritten form or typewriters,
what do you prefer to use?
I love hand writing.
But I can write half of a story in the amount of time it takes me to write a
full one on the laptop. I'm much quicker using technology and since my fans are
rather happy to get a book sooner rather than later, it just makes sense. But
I've got notebooks scattered all over my house full of ideas I might have a
chance to get to someday if I live to be at least 100!
Is there a ritual you
do before you begin your book?
I jump on my
treadmill. It helps me to focus for whatever reason, plus as a writer you're
prone to sitting on your behind way too long, gotta do something to make sure
you stay healthy in this business. So I just combine two of my favorite things.
It makes it fun for me.
What do you do when
you finish your book and turn it in to the editor?
I shout it to the
rooftops, or at least to the FB world, and then I open my next work in progress
and get to work because for me this isn't just my job, it's my passion. How
many people can honestly claim to love their job?
